COVID-19 Updates

It’s been 13 months since we posted a blog about how Cook & James is responding to the COVID-19 outbreak and a year since we uploaded the below public statement. As the country begins to open, we wanted to share our latest protocols, thoughts and intentions.

According to the CDC at this writing, 112 million Americans have had at least one dose and 66.2 million are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Among our own Cook & James staff, 95% of us have been vaccinated and the last few have scheduled their shots. This is great news that lets us all see the light at the end of this very long tunnel. But we want to assure you that we will continue to be vigilant, monitor the situation and intend to act cautiously.

As of April 15, yesterday, the staff is back working in Cook & James offices, but our space looks a little different. Instead of two conference rooms, we now have four so there’s plenty of room for buyers, sellers, agents and lenders to spread out. All our team members have their own office with a door and mask wearing is still mandatory. We continue to keep medical-grade air purifiers running and still sanitize every night.

Even though our M&M jar is still off limits (just for a while longer, we promise!), we do have individually wrapped snacks and drinks available upon request. And the coveted Cook & James buyer gift bags will always be there, stuffed with exclusive goodies.

We promise our closings are just as flawless and fun as pre-pandemic. Yes, we’ll still do a Curbside Closing upon request and yes, we will still always come to you for our signature at-home closing. But we also promise to keep everyone safe and follow protocols suggested by health experts.

We are cautiously optimistic that maybe this summer we can begin to ramp up outdoor events and even have a few golf outings on our dance card. But we remain committed to acting conservatively so we don’t set back everyone’s hard work during this last difficult year.
